Georgia High Schools State Step Championship

ABOUT US

Georgia High Schools State Step Championship was founded in 2014, exclusively for Georgia High Schools Step programs. GHSSSC was founded on behalf of those individuals, teams, and organizations with a desire to showcase their ability through stepping at a competitive level. GHSSSC is the competitive platform where participant's gather to gain exposure at a local level which will allow teams to advance to regional or even national level competitions. The GHSSSC is established to help maintain the true essence of the traditional forms of competitive step which may draw from elements of gymnastics, break dance, tap dance, march, or include semi-dangerous stunts as a part of individual or team routines.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is threefold: First, to insure all participants of the program is well equipped with the ability, training, determination and confidence to perform competitively on a national and/or regional level. Secondly, to expect and utilize these skills for professional development that is sought after by colleges and universities throughout the Western hemisphere. Finally by GHSSSC allowing participates to take on the role as community leaders and performing service as volunteers during annual events where GHSSSC may serve as co-host. While the great state of Georgia is recognized as a leader when it comes to championships of the highest caliber during competitive outings.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this competition is to instill the knowledge and education that is associated both culturally and professionally with the craft of step. Understanding the history and significance of Step will surely be both enlightening and entertaining from the standpoint of being a part of something that has been historically performed throughout the ages. That those who are involved in the program will have enjoyable memories as well as maintaining the discipline needed for development in seeking goals that requires the same types of hard work and dedication needed to maintain a wholesome lifestyle and a proud feeling of accomplishment throughout their lives.
